KTStx? What’s that? Does it have something to do with Texas?

  • KTS = Kaitlin Theder-Schmidt.

    That’s me!

  • tx = therapy. Specifically,

    Speech-Language Therapy.

    That’s what I do!

Just not in Texas! Check out below to learn where.

KAITLIN THEDER-SCHMIDT

M.S., CCC-SLP

As a native Wisconsinite, currently living and working as a certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) in Ann Arbor, Michigan, my clinical practice focuses on working with children, adolescents, and young adults with a variety of cognitive, communication, and neurodevelopmental diversities. I have advanced training in literacy, social communication, pediatric feeding, motor speech, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) interventions, as well as mentorship, leadership, and advocacy. Along with my clinical practice, I enjoy mentoring and supervising clinicians, clinical fellows, and graduate clinicians, as well as educating parents and other professionals about what SLPs do.

I earned my Bachelor’s degrees in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and English Language and Linguistics, as well as my Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. While at Madison, I developed a belief in a patient-lead, family-centered, team-based, and evidence-based approach to therapy that is both fun and functional. In addition to that, I am dedicated to, and truly enjoy, helping clients meet their individualized social, communication, and community engagement goals in engaging and motivating ways.

When I’m not working, or figuring out how to be a Badger in Wolverine territory, I love spending time with family and friends, reading, skiing, and hiking with my dog.
